Living Force, Year Two: Delving Deeper

By Morrie Mullins

The first year of the Living Force campaign introduced players to the Cularin system, to the Metatheran Cartel and the Jedi Academy, to Nirama's smugglers and Uffel's droids, and to disturbances in the Force and in the daily lives of the citizens. Called upon to come to the aid of their home and to protect their way of life, the citizens became heroes.

But a hero's work is never done, not so long as the dark side remains. And it definitely remains in Cularin. Perhaps it's even growing stronger . . .

Year two of the Living Force campaign will continue the adventure begun in year one. Politically, the people are upset by the continued presence of the Metatheran Cartel. Adhering to the letter of Cularin's law, the Cartel withdrew from the main planet, but they remained in orbit and established a base nearby. It's clear that they're watching everything that goes on; how long can it be until they make a move?

Not everything on the political front is dire, though. There are some happy occasions coming up, including the social event of the season, as a very prominent member of Cularin society is wed.

The upcoming year will also see the first explorations of the Jedi Academy on Almas, as well as the dark fortress on the far side of the planet. Something is changing on Almas, and the Jedi are concerned. They're also spread too thin, as the intrigue within the system grows and dark powers make themselves more and more known. Where one dark Jedi has traveled, more may soon arrive, and the Academy must be prepared. The cost of that preparation is up to the heroes.

Finally, the boundaries of the campaign will stretch, as the neighboring system of Thaere begins to play a more prominent role in the developing situation in Cularin. The heroes of Cularin, grown in stature, in power, and in the Force, begin to explore a larger world than they ever believed possible, and to further become part of the living Force.

In February, Winter Fantasy will feature a brand-new trilogy, "Blinking Eyes," that kicks off year two of the "Among The Stars" multiyear story arc. After these three scenarios run, the interactive will tie it all together and resolve any remaining threads -- maybe. Bring your Living Force character to the convention and play all four Living Force events. Come in costume for the interactive, if you can. Get all the details and start making your plans to attend!
